William M. Seeley

(1917- 2009)

MOUNT CARMEL, Ill. – William M. Seeley, 92, of Parkview Care Center, formerly of Mount Carmel, Ill., passed away May 22, 2009, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was born May 19, 1917, in Toledo, Cumberland County, Ill., the son of Henry and Pearl (Hetzer) Seeley.

He married Edna M. Seeley on February 25, 1945, in Wabash County, Ill. She preceded him in death on March 16, 1992.

Bill worked as a school teacher in Keensburg before enlisting in the U.S Army. Before his retirement he was Supervisor for Southeastern Illinois Agency on Aging, working with senior employment. In the service he was awarded a Silver Star and a Bronze Star.

He is survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Jo Raber of Mount Carmel; niece, Nancy Blum; and special cousin and guardian, Wanda Johnson of Evansville, Ind. He was very fond of his caregivers at Parkview Care Center in Evansville, Ind. The family is grateful for the special care and love they provided.

Per Mr. Seeley’s request, his body will be cremated.

A Memorial Graveside service will be held at a later date.

Short Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
