William Clare Seely, Sr.

William Clare Seely, Sr., 89, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of New Cumberland, died Friday, July 18, 2008 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.

An Army Veteran of World War II, he was a member of the 3rd Armored Division Assn. and Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. He retired as a self employed appliance repairman. Clare was a member of Shiremanstown United Methodist Church for over sixty years, and was an avid Phillies fan.

He was born July 18, 1919 in Buckley, MI to the late John and Frances (Thompson) Seely.

The widower of Elizabeth A. Seely he is survived by three sons and their spouses, William C., Jr. and Bonita of Mechanicsburg, Samuel A. and Judy of Canton, NC and John F. and Lynn of Barefoot Bay, FL; two daughters and their spouses, A, Elizabeth and Leonard Runk of Duncannon and Ruth E. and Bruce Brown of Chesapeake, VA; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shiremanstown United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
