Virginia K. Seeley

Virginia K. Seeley, age 81, of Cherokee passed away at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa on May 30, 2003.

Graveside services will be 11:30 am, Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at the Scandinavian Cemetery in Alta with Reverend David Arulnathan officiating. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home of Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake prior to the burial.

Virginia Kathryn Hobbs was born on August 4, 1921 in Alta, Iowa the daughter of Francis and Mavis J. (Lindlief) Hobbs Jr. She attended school in Alta and Fairview, graduating from Storm Lake High School in 1938.

On August 7, 1938 Virginia was united in marriage to Ernest Leroy Seeley in Elk Point, South Dakota. They made their home in Galva prior to moving to Cherokee. To this union, six children were born.

Virginia sold Avon for many years and was top seller many times.

Survivors include her children: Phillip Seeley and wife Susan of Cherokee, Betty Haselhoff and husband Armon of Schaller, Lois Syndergaard of Schaller, Sherry Mills and husband Douglas of Linn Grove; daughter-in-law Julie Seeley of Schaller; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.

Preceding Virginia in death are her parents, husband Ernest, infant daughter Sally Ann, and son James.
