Sterling Leander Seeley

(1890- 1960)

Sterling Leander Seeley, 69, of Bob Smith Road, died at 5:15 a.m. Saturday in a Baytown hospital.

Seeley was born June 12, 1890 in Fremont, Nev., (sic – s/b Neb.) and moved to Baytown in 1923. He retired in 1950 from Humble Oil and Refining Co.’s Baytown Refinery as a carpenter.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Paul U. Lee Funeral Home with Rev. James Lee Riley, pastor of Faith-Methodist Church in South Houston, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Crest Cemetery under direction of Paul U. Lee Funeral Home.

Seeley is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ethel Mae Seeley of Baytown; two sons, Sterling Lawton Seeley of San Salvadore, Brazil, and Joseph F. Seeley of Houston: six grandchildren: one sister, Mrs. Helen Dodson of Alvin.
