Roy D. ‘Killer’ Seely 1957-2011

Roy D. “Killer” Seely, 53, of Shawneetown, died Friday, March 11, 2011, in Deaconess Hospital after a sudden illness.

Roy, or as most knew him around Shawnee town,” Killer,” was born in Eldorado on March 26, 1957, to Lolene (Seely) Williams.

He had worked for R. G. Berry trucking in Shawneetown for 21 years driving a semi truck. That was one of his real loves, driving the truck, along with fishing, baseball, and especially watching wrestling. Roy was a big man, a stature that would intimidate most, but he was a good person, always kind and polite to everyone. He will be greatly missed.

Roy is survived by his companion, Louise Killman of Shawneetown; a daughter, Sarah Seely of Eldorado; an aunt, Ailene Brooks of Shawneetown; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Gulub of Seattle, Wash. and a special friend, Tammy Shaw of Harrisburg; he was also survived by many cousins and friends.

Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Lolene “Bil” Williams; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Avery Seely; and many aunts and uncles.

Visitation for Roy will be was from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2011. at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown. The funeral for Roy will be starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Powell officiating. Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery.
