Born in Morris, IL, Aug. 19, 1918, and a longtime resident of Manhattan, IL.

Survived by his wife, Esther (Palmer-Krapf) of 47 years; brother, Ralph Seely; one sister, Evelyn Montague; one daughter Elaine (Ed) Kaske; one stepdaughter Sharon (Glenn) Gill; one stepson, Kendall (Susan) Krapf; seven step grandchildren, Annette Gill, Barbara (Matthew) Steffen, Gwen (Ron) Johns, Travis Krapf, Misti Krapf, Zachery Krapf; three step great-grandchildren, Steven and Matthew Gill and Teresa Vickery; one step great-great grandchild Ariana Griffey.

Preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Sr. and Elva (Noxon) Seely; stepmother, Flora Seely; stepsister, Margarite Mundt.

Robert was retired from the Manhattan Post Office where he gave 30 years of service as postmaster.

Veteran of WWII. Member of: The Mystic Shrine in Medinah Temple of Chicago, Masonic Lodge #851 Chicago Heights chapter, American Legion Square Post #232 of Chicago Heights, National Association of Postmasters and Manhattan United Methodist Church, past president of Old Timers Baseball Association, past president of Illinois Chapter 6 N.A.P.U.S.

Funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 30, 10 a.m. at Forsythe Funeral Chapel, 320 Eastern Ave., Manhattan.

Rev. Doug Robinson Johnson officiating. Interment Green Garden Greenview Cemetery.

Memorials to Manhattan United Methodist Church or American Parkinson Disease Association.
