Rex Dean Seely passed away on October 18, 2011, in Salt Lake City.

Born January 22, 1919, in Sego, Utah, to Mary Mae Krebs and Hans Rex Seely, Dean spent his youth in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, where he graduated from Sanpete High School. During World War II he served as a chief yeoman in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. In 1949 Dean married Naoma Roundy; they were later divorced. Dean found great satisfaction in his profession as a certified shorthand reporter.

Survivors include his son Greg (Portia) Seely; daughters Karen Richards and DeAnn Smith; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers Reid Seely and Larry Seely; and sisters Dixie Wix, Patsy Christiansen, and Shanna Jones.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 22, at 1:00 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary, 96 North 100 West, Mount Pleasant.
