Henderson: Rachel Kelley Seeley, age 91 died Saturday morning August 9, 2014 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Seeley was born and reared in Chester County, the Sweetlips Community, the daughter of the late Jasper Alvin and Sarah Crickett Bailey Kelley. She attended Chester County schools and August 9, 1946 she married James Paul Seeley. Mrs. Seeley died on what would have been their 68 wedding anniversary. She and Mr. Seeley were married 66 years prior to his death in 2013. They owned and operated Seeley Electric in downtown Henderson for 50 years, retiring in 1997.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson. She loved flower gardening and enjoyed sewing and crafting.
She is survived by a son James Donald Seeley and wife Charlotte of Henderson, a daughter-in-law Renee Seals of Memphis, a granddaughter Beth Seeley of Nashville, a brother James Kelley of Lexington and a sister Mary Harris of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Joe Kelley, and three sisters; Era Mae Talbert, Edna Mitchell, and Ora Lea Barham.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Brother Brad Patterson, Beth Seeley, and Dennis Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Swettlips Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday evening.
