Melvin E. “Ike” Seeley

Seeley, Melvin E. ‘Ike’, Chesaning, Michigan. Passed away Monday, July 25, 2005, at Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center, Saginaw. Age 80 years. Melvin was born October 18, 1924 in St. Charles to Richard and Anna (Simpkins) Seeley. He married Shirley Canda on June 21, 1952 in Angola, Ind. She survives him. Melvin was a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church in St. Charles, St. Charles Masonic Lodge #313, Boy Scout Leader, St. Charles Senior Center and a member of IBEW Local 948. He served his country during WWII II in the South Pacific. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles, gardening and his family. Surviving are his wife Shirley of 53 years and their children and spouses, Bruce and Linda Seeley of Flint; Gail Rosebrock of Montrose; Christy Oliver of Zeeland; Keith Seeley of Bay City; Richard Seeley of Toledo, Ohio; Theresa Middleton of India and Denise and Mike Navarre of Newport News, Va.; 14 grandchildren, Lori, Danny, Peter, Derick, Ophelia, Kayla, Meghann, Chelsea, Grant, Ashley, Alicia, Tabatha, Daphne and Paget; four great- grandchildren; a sister, Marion Hileman of Harrison and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005 at First Baptist Church, 130 E. Clinton St., St. Charles. Pastor Mike English will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the Kendall Funeral home, St. Charles on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the baptist church after 1:00 p.m.
