Mary Ann Seeley

(1913- 2008)

Mary Ann Seeley, 95, died March 3, 2008.

Born in 1913, Mary grew up in Barberton and lived most of her life in Manchester (New Franklin), Ohio. She worked at Polsky’s department store in Akron for about 25 years, previously at Seiberling. She married William A. (Bill) Seeley in 1939 and they lived happily together for 65 years. Mary was a member of Manchester United Methodist Church. She contributed to the World War II war effort by working in the aircraft industry in California while Bill was in the South Pacific.

Preceded in death by her husband, Bill and sisters, Joann, Leena, Yolanda, and Esther, she is survived by son, Charles M. (Betty) Seeley; grandchildren, William B. “Ben” (Angela) and Jennifer Seeley; great-grandchildren, Claire and Addison Seeley; sister-in-law, Leona Smarr; and sister Norma. We are especially grateful to staff at Alterra Sterling House of Barberton for their loving care.

At Mary’s request, private graveside services will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery for internment beside her loving husband. Memorials may be made to Hospice/VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333. (ADAMS-MASON, 330-535-9186.)
