Seeley, Martin J., Jr. “Mert” Age 91, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011, at his home. Born in Joliet, living in New Lenox the past 57 years. “Mert” is survived by his loving family; daughters, Nancy Seeley, Sue Seeley, Mary Beth (Rick) Schoenstedt and Cathy (Daniel) Skarzynski; his grandchildren who were the light of his life, Lorien, Katie and Emily Schoenstedt and Daniel, Zachary and Katrina Skarzynski; a sister Frances Davis; brothers, Raymond (Joan) and Patrick Donald (Esther); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Preceded in death by his wife Mary C. (nee Libovicz); parents Martin J. Sr. and Gertrude (nee Klingoff); brothers, Russell. Billy and Jimmy; sisters, Genevieve Hamilton and Anna Schauland. “Mert” was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, New Lenox, St Jude Men’s Club, Knights of Columbus Father Dick Allen Council #10926, Sylvan A.C. and was a New Lenox Park District Coach. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran, and a patriot. He was a member of New Lenox VFW Post 9545 and New Lenox American Legion Post 1977. The family would like to thank the caregivers from Joliet Area Hospice for their timeless love and attention given to our dad and our family. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 2-4PM & 7-9PM at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Road, New Lenox, IL. Funeral services Friday September 30, 2011 with prayers at 9:30 AM to St Jude’s Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
