Marjorie Ann Seeley

(1935- 2010)

OLEAN, NY – Marjorie Ann Seeley, formerly of Olean and a five-year resident of Absolut of Houghton, passed away Tuesday (Sept. 14, 2010) at Olean General Hospital.

Born March 11, 1935, in Limestone, she was a daughter of Newell T. and Grace Owens Seeley Sr.

Ms. Seeley was a 1953 graduate of Friendship Central School. She began employment in 1954 at Clark Bros. Co. in Olean as an accounting clerk and retired from Dresser-Rand in 1990 as a secretary, having resided in Olean from 1954 to 2005.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean, where she had been a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, served on the interim Liturgy Committee of the first Parish Council and later served as a member of the Liturgy Committee, Publicity Committee and as secretary of the Parish Council for many years. She was also a Eucharistic minister.

Surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Betty Jane Seeley Doran; and two brothers, Forrest L. Seeley Sr. and Newell Thompson Seeley Jr.

Friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean. Funeral services will be held Friday (Sept. 17, 2010) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Father Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
