Marilyn Jean Seely

Marilyn Jean Seely, 80, of South Haven passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Bronson Hospital in South Haven.

She was born Dec. 22, 1938, to Clarence and Mona (Hackenburg) Buskirk, in Lawrence. Marilyn graduated from Lawrence High School with the class of 1957. She worked as a bus driver for the Van Buren County Intermediate School District for 19 years before her retirement in 2001. Marilyn enjoyed tending to her yard and flower gardens and enjoyed walking and traveling. She was a member of the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven.

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Joyce Hadley, Sandra Buskirk and Kenneth Buskirk; son-in-law, Jeff Lorren; and former spouse, William Seely.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Kevin (Dawn) Seely of South Haven, Cindy Lorren of South Haven and Lori Weber of Holland; grandchildren: Jennifer (James) Poggi, Mary Lorren, Jeffrey (Shannon) Lorren, Kayla Seely, Mathew Weber and Cody (Kimberly) Weber; and great-grandchildren, Kylee and Kenzlee.

Visitation will held from 11 a.m.-noon on Saturday, June 29, at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven. Memorial services will follow the visitation at noon at the church, with Pastor Travis Wilson officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marilyn’s memory to Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 06321 Blue Star Highway, South Haven, MI 49090.

The family is being helped by the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven.
