GREENSBORO — Laverne G. Seely, 93, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2008, at Moses Cone Hospital.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Laverne was born on July 3, 1915, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Ernest M. and Rose Jane Feller Grant. She had resided in Greensboro since 2002. Laverne was an avid bridge player, and participated at the highest level. She loved wildlife, nature and her family. She was lovingly called “George” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Laverne was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Seely in 1990 and her daughter, Diane Rose Simaan in 1989.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two granddaughters, Michelle Simone Simaan and husband, Cheo, Marlo Simone Simaan and husband, William and son- in-law, Simon Simaan. Seven great grandchildren also survive.
The family would like to thank everyone that cared for Laverne at Moses Cone Hospital in her last days, and all the prayers and support from family and friends. It will always be remembered.
