m. 1st, 10 Mar 1746/7, Woodbury, CT, Elizabeth Gibbs (b 3 Feb 1725, Litchfield, CT; d 1750/54).  Daughter of Benjamin and Abigail Marshall Gibbs.
m. 2nd, before Jul 1754, Phoebe Bissell (d after 1795).  Daughter of Benjamin Bissell.

Justus was of New Milford, CT when his wife Elizabeth was admitted to the New Milford Church, Oct 1749.  Justus purchased land in Litchfield, April 1752.

Will mentioned wife Pheobe and “all my children.”  Children not named.  His estate, when administered, was insolvent.

Justus had five sons that served in the Revolutionary War; namely: Seth, Benjamin, John, Ebenezer and Justus, Jr. Justus Seeley, Sr. “assisted in forwarding to Army and Militia of CT in their marches as far as Albany and other places, sundry times for which he never carried any account or expected any other reward than satisfaction of serving his country.”

He applied for assistance because “one of the sons was crippled for life.”

According to Seelye’s in Service to America, Colonies, and States*, Justus served in the Connecticut 2nd Regiment under Colonel Nathan Whiting, the 9th Company with Captain Archibald McNeil in 1762, French and Indian War.  He served in the Connecticut 19th Regiment in 1776 under colonel Erastus Wolcott.  He applied for assistance because “one of the sons was crippled for life, another was ill for months and he, himself, contracted a disorder in caring for his son.”
