Some records give wife’s name as Sarah Stewart; however, we feel that there could be confusion with another couple. Sarah Stewart/Stuart, daughter of William Stewart is the wife of Justus William Seelye (SGS#282). There is also another Sarah Stewart/Stuart, daughter of Alexander Stewart who married Bradley Seelye (SGS #274).
They resided in Litchfield, CT.
He served in the Revolutionary War under Gen. Gates to the northward 1777. He was a resident of Litchfield Co. and is listed in the Comptrollers Office.
