SAD RAILROAD ACCIDENT
KING DEATH HOLDING HIGH CARNIVAL ON JEWETT’S TRACK
ONE MAN KILLED AT NEW WINDSOR
Josiah Seely, a brakeman on conductor King’s train was instantly killed by the cars Monday afternoon. While walking on the cars on the Newburgh Branch, near New Windsor, the train broke in two, and he fell to the track. Several cars ran over him, severing his head, and one arm, and mangling the body in a frightful manner. The remains were brought to Port Jervis and taken charge of by undertakers Wiegand & Sharp. Mr. Seely was a resident of the town of Greenville, but had been employed on the road several years. He was aged about 38 years, and leaves a wife and three children. The remains will be interred in Greenville cemetery to-morrow afternoon. Funeral services will be preached at the M.E. church, in this village, at two o’clock.
