Funeral services for John Seely, 52 years old, member of the New Orleans police department, who died Tuesday, will be held today at 9:45 a.m. from the auxiliary funeral home of Jacob Schoen and Son, 3827 Canal street. Requiem mass will be held at St. Anthony de Padua church and interment will be in Greenwood cemetery.
Seely, who resided at 319 North Murat street, became a patrolman on the police force in July 1921, and was assigned to the Seventh Precinct station. He was later transferred to the First Precinct station.
He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Augusta Ghergich, and two sons, Electrician’s Mate Third Class Joseph Seely, United States Navy, and Raymond Seely.
