John Seely and Miss Julia Dow Wed in Maryland

WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 21 – Miss Julia Partridge Dow, daughter of Mrs. Baird Dow and the late Dr. Dow of Elmira, N.Y., and John Madison Seely, son of Mrs. Lyman J. Seely and late Mr. Seely, of Coral Gables, Fla., were married at noon Monday, the ceremony taking place in Rockville, Md. A small reception followed at the Shoreham hotel, where members of the bridal party were stopping.

The bride is the granddaughter of the late Gen. and Mrs. Emerson H. Liscum of Washington, and John Loveland of Washington is her uncle.

For her wedding the bride wore a traveling costume of brown wool with brown accessories and a corsage bouquet of gardenias. Her maid of honor was her sister, Miss Mary Fell Dow, who wore a costume of hunters’ green scratch wool, with green accessories and a corsage bouquet of gardenias.

Olin Wayne McLaud of Elmira, N.Y., served as best man. The Very Rev. A.B. Rudd, former pastor of Grace Episcopal church in Elmira, was the officiating clergyman.

Following the reception Mr. and Mrs. Seely left for a wedding trip by boat. They will make their home in Coral Gables.
