DEATH OF J.F. SEELEY
John F. Seeley died at noon Friday at his home on Short street, near Ninth. He was taken sick Wednesday night with hemorrhage of the brain and has since been in a very critical condition, his death being expected at any time.
Mr. Seeley was born at Berlin, Erie county, Ohio, November 18, 1852. He moved to Columbus, this county, in 1883, where he resided for fifteen years. He was city marshal of Columbus for three years during his residence in that city. He moved, with his family, to Galena about three years ago, and since coming here has been employed as engineer at the Crowe crusher.
Mr. Seeley was a member of the Select Knights, in which order he carried $2,000 life insurance. He leaves a wife and two daughters, also sister at Berlin, Ohio and one at Cleveland, who have the sincerest sympathy of all in the hour of sorrow. At times like this it seems futile to attempt to speak any words of comfort to those from whom a loved one has been take, but these times must come to all of us, sooner or later, and we must bow to the will of Him who is all-wise and all-merciful.
Funeral services will be held at the family residence Sunday morning, conducted by Rev. Robt. Liddell. The body will be taken to Columbus for burial. Galena Times
