John E. Seely

JOHN E. “JACK” SEELY, 77, departed this life Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, in Duncan Regional Hospital.

A private graveside service, under the direction of Bailes-Polk Funeral Home, was held Wednesday in Duncan Cemetery with the Rev. John Douthitt officiating.

Mr. Seely was born Sept. 7, 1920, in Duncan, to John and Mary (Starkey) Seely. He made his home at the Meridian Nursing Home for many years and always enjoyed being there. He was a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Comanche.

He loved music, especially old ballads and gospel songs. He liked to hear the music of all the bands that came to the nursing home to entertain.

Survivors include a brother, Virgil Seely of Comanche; a sister and brother-in-law, Estelle and Virgil Foster of Duncan; three nephews, Wayne Foster, Guy Foster and Dennis Elrod; and a niece, Reba Coleman.
