James W. Seely Dies in Eunice

EUNICE – James W. Seely, 88, died shortly before noon Friday at Eunice Lea General Hospital where he had been a patient since around Thanksgiving.

A retired farmer, Mr. Seely had been a resident of Eunice for six years.  His wife, Mary Eula, died Dec. 19 at the age of 84.

He is survived by three sons, J.E. Seely, Eunice; Price Seely, O’Donnell, Tex.; and Dee Seely, Ackerly, Tex; two daughters, Mrs. C.E. Hendricks, Monahans, Tex., and Mrs. Josie Woods, Ackerly, Tex.; two brothers, Dave Seely, Bowie, Tex., and Henry Seely, Whitesboro, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Arnold, Sand Springs, Tex.; 15 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. (New Mexico time) at the Church of Christ in Loop, Tex.  Burial will be in Loop Cemetery under direction of Griffin Funeral Home of Hobbs.
