Mr James Thomas Sealy, 71
71, of 2811 Cassells Rd., died May 1, 1998 at the Chester County Hospital. Funeral is Monday at 11 AM at Saluda Street Church of God with Rev. Dennis Reid officiating and Rev. Mike Woods assisting. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday 7-9 PM at Wright’s Home For Funerals.
Born January 21, 1927 in Chester County, he was a son of the late Louico Benjamin Sealy and the late Sadie Estes Sealy. He was a member of the Saluda Street Church of God. He had completed classes in blue print reading at Spartanburg Technical College. He was a retired machinist with the Virginia Chemical Company and had prior employment with the Torrington Bearing Company. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was a Magistrate for Chester County for 28 years serving since 1988 as Chief Magistrate.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carol Deal Sealy; brothers, L.B. Sealy Jr, Walter Sealy and Richard Sealy, all of Rock Hill, SC and Melvin Sealy of Sutter Creek, CA; sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Clayton of Chester, Mrs. Ethel Harris of Charlotte, Cricket Jones of Chester; a sister-in-law, Miss Lynn Deal of Chester that was raised in the home of Mr. Sealy.
