Seeley, Howard Millard, Age 87, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2009. He was born in Jennings, LA on April 10, 1922 to the late Oscar Pogue Seeley, Sr. and Louise (Newell) Seeley. He was one of sixteen siblings. In 1953, he married Johnnie Mae Jackson on February 6, 1953. She survives. Howard worked on the construction of the gas pipeline from Louisiana to Michigan for many years. He came to Ann Arbor 1955 and following his pipeline experience, he worked in maintenance at the University of Michigan Hospital for 21 years and retired in 1985. He joined Bethel A.M.E. Church on his birthday, April 10, 1976. He was a faithful member until his health no longer permitted. Aside from his wife Johnnie Mae, Howard is survived by a daughter, Mary Louise Jenkins (Willard) LA., Audrey L. Lyons, PA, Margaret O. (Lawrence) Simon, LA, Mary G. Prevost, CA, Catherine Charles, LA, Alice L. Bray, Norma J. Larry, CA, Gloria A. (Oli) Loving, TX, Delores M. (Raymond, Sr.) Wilson, CA,, Oliver Sr. (Genevie) Seeley, CA, Olin P.(Sheila) Seeley, NV, Donald R. Seeley, two grandsons, Loren (Kara) Jenkins, Jamal Jenkins, both in CA, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. As part of his extended family in Ann Arbor, his “acquired” son, Vincent (Kathleen) and grandchildren Natasha F. and Cedric York also survive. Howard was also preceded in death by siblings Ivory Vigure, Jr., Ola S. Gilbeaux, Vivian E. Anderson, Flora B. Taylor, and twin brother, Oscar Pogue, Jr. and one grandchild, Willard Jenkins, Jr. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 12, 2009 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 900 John A. Woods Drive, Ann Arbor. Funeral services will be held at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 900 John A. Woods Drive at 11 on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, preceded by a Family Hour from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Arrangements by Muehlig Funeral Home, Ann Arbor, MI.
