JERSEYVILLE – Dr. Harvey Hubbard Seely, 74, veterinarian, and former Jersey County coroner, died Monday at 3:15 p.m. in Jersey Community Hospital.

A native of Greene County, he was born June 26, 1882, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Seely.

Dr. Seely was a member of Jerseyville Lodge, A.F.&A.M., and belonged to Scottish Rites, Mississippi Consistory, and Ainad Temple, East St. Louis; the Loyal Order of Moose, Jerseyville, and the American Veterinarian Society.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Tula Seely; a brother, Lloyd Seely, White Hall, and a sister, Mrs. Grace Lenter of Long Beach, California.

The Rev. M. Edwards Breed, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will officiate at rites Thursday at 2 p.m. in Jacoby Bros. Funeral Home. Burial will be at White Hall. Friends may visit the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
