Geneva Ellen Seeley

(1917- 2003)

CHARLESTON – Geneva Ellen Seeley, 86, of Charleston died Tuesday (April 8, 2003) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston. The Rev. Greg Swango will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Charleston.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Seeley was born March 23, 1917, in Charleston, a daughter of Theodore and Dora Belle Pearcy Stevens. She married Wayne Seeley on July 7, 1940, in St. Louis. He survives.

Also surviving are a son, Victor Seeley of Mattoon; a daughter, Carolyn Young of Laguna Hills, Calif.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Seeley was a member of Lake Land Church of Christ in Mattoon and Royal Neighbors. She taught Bible classes at World Bible School for many years. She enjoyed sewing, nature, singing, playing the organ and composing music.

Memorials may be made to Lake Land Church of Christ.
