Fred R. Seely

ST. JOHN – Fred R. Seely, 88, formerly of St. John, died Wednesday at Prescott. Born May 19, 1887 at Lyons, he married Daisy Buckley, Dec. 31, 1910 at Lyons. She died in 1973. He was an attorney and lived here before moving to Ft. Scott in 1972.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Ft. Scott; Kansas Bar Association and past county attorney and probate judge of Stafford County.

Survivors are son: Scott, Los Angeles; daughters; Mrs. Adeline Gates, Ft. Scott; Mrs. Ann Penberthy, Scotsdale, Ariz.; brothers: Frank, Burlington, Wash.; Ira, Sugar Creek, Mo.; sister: Mrs. Lois McVicker, Guthrie, Okla.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Minnis Chapel, St. John. Burial will be in Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John. Friends may call 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Family suggests memorials to Ida Long Goodman Memorial Library in care of the Chapel.
