m. Feb 1743, Keziah Hurlburt (b 2 Mar 1719, Woodbury, CT; d 5 Dec 1800). Daughter of Cornelius and Sarah Hurlburt.

Ephraim was of New Milford, CT but was in Woodbury, CT in 1743 when their first child was born. They lived in Woodbury until the 1750’s when they removed to Crum Elbow Precinct, Dutchess Co., NY where he is listed on the tax rolls of Feb and June 1759 and June 1761. In Pownal, VT, on July 41768, Ephraim sold 5 acres in Fairfield, CT to Ebenezer Seelye for £10. He was in Wallingford, VT in 1770. In 1773, while living in Danby, VT, he and his son, Ephraim Jr. and Daniel Horsford of Canaan, CT all sold land in Williamstown, MA.

Sons, Reuben and Ephraim were appointed to administer the estate on 9 Dec 1778.

Distribution of estate on 25 Aug 1781 was signed by Sarah Ketchum, William and Hannah Foster, Richard and Keziah Lattin, Moses and Lucy Vail, Israel Seelye, John Seelye, Ephraim Seelye, Jonathan Seelye and Reuben Seelye. There was no mention of the widow, Keziah Hurlburt Seelye.

Ephraim served in the French and Indian Wars in 1757. He was a member of the Committee of Safety in 1777. He served in the Revolutionary War from VT and is referred to as Colonel Seelye.
