Eliza Seeley

Mrs. Eliza Seeley, widow of Edmund Seeley, died at her home at Goshen on Sunday, January 5, at the age of 87 years. Mrs. Seeley lived all of her married life in the village of Goshen, and since 1842, resided in house where she was taken by Mr. Seeley as his bride.

She is survived by her brother, W.L. Miller, of New York city; by her daughter, Mrs. L.G. Andrews, of Goshen, and by five grandchildren.

Her husband, Edmund Seeley, was in his day one of the foremost men in promoting the trotting horse in Orange county, and was the owner of the celebrated “American Star.” Mr. Seeley was proclaimed by Robert Bonner as the best judge of a horse in the country, in those days.
