Seely Rites Are Held At Knoxville

Knoxville – Funeral services were held at the Griggs funeral home Monday at two o’clock for Edward Seely, eighty-nine, who died at Wellsborn, Saturday after suffering a broken hip several weeks before.

Mr. Seely was born in Deerfield Township, Pa., February 5, 1851, the son of Ebenezer and Almira Lawton Seely. When a young man he went to the western states where he spent most of his life. He was never married. The survivors are one sister, Mrs. Susan Husted of Emporium, and several nephews and nieces. The Rev. Frank Davis, Baptist minister conducted the services. Burial was in the Butler Hill Cemetery.
