Mrs. Charlotte Sterling Seely

Mrs. Charlotte Sterling Seely, age 88 years, died at 8 o’clock yesterday morning at the home of her son, John A. Seely at Troy Center, from the infirmities due to age. She had been failing for a number of weeks and the end came peacefully.

Mrs. Seely was born on July 4, 1830, at Wallaceville. When a young lady she was united in marriage with William Seely, who died fourteen years ago. They moved to a farm near Troy Center over fifty years ago and since the death of Mr. Seely she had resided with her children. To Mr. and Mrs. Seely were born ten children, six sons and four daughters, of whom the following survive: Mrs. Margaret Sweat and Burl Seely of Tryonville, John A. Seely of Troy Center, Robert and Charles Seely and Mrs. O. E. Titus of Oil City and Joseph P. Seely of Portland, N.Y. She also had twenty-one grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Park Seely of Chapmanville and a brother, Eri Sterling of Tidloute also survive.

Mrs. Sweat, the eldest daughter, is critically ill at the Titusville City hospital following two surgical operations. Mrs. Seely was a devout Christian and had been a member of the Troy Center Methodist Episcopal church for many years. The funeral will be held from the church Sunday at 1:30 and the interment will follow in the church cemetery.
