Charles G. Seeley

SEELEY – Charles G. Seeley passed away suddenly November 29 at the age of 71 years.  He was born in Foxboro, Ontario, and came to Saskatchewan with his family at an early age.  In 1921 he joined the Union Bank of Canada at Hughton which merged with the Royal Bank in 1922.  He continued his banking career in Saskatchewan, serving at many rural points and in the General Manager’s Department in Regina.  He was appointed Manager, Elrose Branch in 1949, was promoted to Rosetown Branch in 1952 and subsequently was Manager of Broad Street and 7th Avenue Branch in Regina, where he remained until his retirement in 1966. He continued his involvement with the financial community through management relief assignments in Saskatchewan for the Royal Bank and in an accounting capacity with the firm of McWatters and Company.  During his 56 career he was actively involved in community organizations, including the Lions Club, CNIB, Chamber of Commerce, was a Worshipful Master of The Masonic Lodge and will be well remembered by a vast circle of friends, clients and acquaintances.  Mr. Seeley is survived by his wife Edna and daughter Gail who reside at 14 Duncan Crescent, Regina, and by two older brothers, Robert of Saskatoon and Frank of Foxboro, Ontario.  Private funeral arrangements have been completed and it is requested that no flowers or donations be offered.
