Alson J. Seelye, 60, of Midland, died Thursday evening, Feb. 7, 2013, at MidMichigan Medical Center. The son of the late Andrew and Loretta (Wetherall) Seelye, Alson was born in Midland on Jan. 12, 1953. He enjoyed mud bogging trucks, picking up antique items and restoring them, and working in his garage.
Surviving are his children, Wendy (Tim) Johnson, Charles Seelye, Andrew (Rumi) Seelye; grandchildren, Brandon Eastman, William and Natasha Harcourt, Samantha, Kristina, and Thomas Johnson, Kai and Riku Seelye; wife Ruth Seelye; brothers, Dennis (Gail) Seelye, Larry (Norma) Seelye; sisters, Cam (Rich) Hammond, Vicki (Steve) Root; aunt and uncle Roland (Marie) Bliesener; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Alson was preceded in death by brother, Douglas Seelye.
A celebration of Alson’s life will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Floyd Church of God with the Rev. Jeff Eckman officiating. Memorials maybe offered to the families wishes.
