Gates – Seely Nuptials Are Announced

The marriage of Sara Adeline Seely, daughter of Probate Judge and Mrs. Fred R. Seely, to Vyrl Russell Gates, son of former Stafford county Commissioner Dana and Mrs. Gates, all of Stafford, took place at high noon, Nov. 24, in the Seely home, Probate Judge Seely officiating.

Margaret Ann Seely, sister of the bride, played wedding music.

A dinner was served following the ceremony to the bridal party, parents and additional guests: Mr. and Mrs. Turner Tuggle, Great Bend; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Paden and Gus Nordstrom, Lyons; Lorene Pundsack, Seward; Vergie Mae Dollard and Ruth Brenzikofer, Stafford.

Mr. and Mrs. Gates left after dinner for Guthrie, Okla., to visit the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. L. O. Seely. From there they went to Oklahoma City to join a school friend of Mrs. Gates and her Thanksgiving day husband and the four were to drive to Brownsville and other points in Texas. Later Mr. and Mrs. Gates will go to McAllen, Tex., where Mr. Gates will resume his position with the Sun Dine Co.

Mr. Gates attended Dodge City and St. John high schools and Salt City Business college, Hutchinson.
