A LAKE OKOBOJI ROMANCE MOST HAPPILY CULMINATED

A romance which has as its setting, Lake Okoboji and Sunset Beach was brought to a most happy culmination on October 10th when Miss Pauline A. Burns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burns of Sanborn, Iowa; became the bride of Mr. Merritt W. Seely of Canton, S.D. The marriage rites were solemnized at the Catholic rectory in Milford, Iowa, with only the immediate relatives of both families in attendance. The bride looked very sweet in a gown of dark blue Spanish lace over Mohawk Canton crepe with a large picture hat to match. Her only adornments were a brooch of platinum and diamonds, the gift of the groom and a small corsage of Golden Ophelia roses.

Following the marriage a very pretty wedding breakfast was served at “Burns Abode,” on Sunset beach. The home was most tastefully decorated in the beautiful Autumn leaves and wild flowers while the table decorations and place cards for the nine covers followed the same color scheme of orange and crimson.

The bridal couple took their wedding trip to Mason City and Minneapolis, then returned to the lakes to spend a few days with the bride’s father and mother. From there they will go to Canton for a short time.

The bride is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burns and was attended at the wedding by her sister, Norene, who is now Mrs. John A. Cajacob, of Slayton, Minn. The groom is the only son of Mrs. Henry Hyattum nee Seely and is a graduate of Hotchkiss and Yale. Mr. and Mrs. Seely will make their home in Mitchell, S.D., where Mr. Seely is engaged in the clothing business.
