Seeley, Stephen
bapt. 1761, Fairfield, CT.
d. 1824, Charlton, NY.
m. Ruth Odell/O’Dell (b about 1746; bapt 15 Dec 1753, Stratfield, CT; d 1840, age 94, Somerset, Hillsdale Co., MI). Daughter of Gershom and Eunice Lacey Odell/O’Dell.
(Note: The age difference between Stephen and Ruth seems very unusual. However, we believe that they were married due to other factors.)
In 1783, Stephen Seeley settled in Ballston, Saratoga Co., NY. David Odell/O’Dell, a cousin of Ruth Odell/O’Dell’s and son of her guardian, Azariah Odell/O’Dell, also settled in Ballston at this time. On 23 Mar 1811, Stephen Seeley and his wife Ruth purchased land in the town of Chariton, NY.
Stephen served in Revolutionary War in 12th Regiment from Albany Co., New York Militia along with brothers John and Nehemiah.
