m. 4/10 Dec 1724, Stamford, CT, Sarah Holly (b 5 May 1705; d 1 Mar 1785, New Canaan, CT). Daughter of Elisha and Martha Holmes Holly of Stamford, CT.
Eliphalet resided in Stamford and New Canaan, CT. His will was proved at Stamford, CT.
He served as a Lieutenant in the militia of New Canaan in 1779. His son, Eliphalet Seeley, Jr. applied for his father’s pay in 1786, after his father’s death.
According to Seelye’s in Service to America, Colonies, and States*, Eliphalet enlisted in the New Canaan CT. Militia in May of 1743. He became a Lieutenant in October of 1747 and in 1778 the State of Connecticut established him to be a Lieutenant of the 9th Company of the Alarm List in the 9th Regiment in the state. He was buried with military honors in the old parade grounds cemetery in New Canaan. He died on May 3rd, 1784.
