Sometime between the 1790 census when David and his family were reported in Litchfield, and the 1810 census, David and his family moved from Litchfield to Queensbury, near Lake George, NY.

David enlisted with his brother John, 8 Apr 1776, in the Continental Regt., under Col. Samuel Elmore in Capt Jeremiah Parmelies Co. He was in Garrison at Ft Schuyler, later called Ft Stanwix in Rome, NY. He was taken prisoner 7 Mar 1780 and released 11 June 1782.
