Peter M. Seeley, 68, former police chief of Tinley Park, died Wednesday in South Suburban Hospital, Hazel Crest. Mr. Seeley had been a member of the Tinley Park police force from 1953 to 1975; he held the rank of sergeant when he was appointed chief in 1970. An overseas veteran of World War II, he served in 1951 and 1952 as commander of Tinley Park Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2971. He served as treasurer for 15 years of the south division of the Illinois Police Association. He is survived by his wife, Bessie; a sister; and a brother. Mass for Mr. Seeley will be said at 10 a.m. Friday in St. George Catholic Church, 6707 W. 175th St., Tinley Park

Peter M. Seeley, 68, a former Tinley Park police chief, died yesterday at South Suburban Hospital in Hazelcrest.

Mr. Seeley was on the Tinley Park force from 1953 until 1975. He was a member of the Illinois Chiefs of Police Association and the Illinois Police Association, for which he was treasurer for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie, and a sister, Helen Signatur.

Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. George Church, Tinley Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Vandenberg Funeral Home, Tinley Park. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City.
