Child Dies As Result Of Bulbar Polio

NEENAH – Minnie Jane Seeley, 8-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Seeley, Rt. 2, Neenah, died early this morning at Theda Clark Hospital after being stricken with bulbar polio.

She was the first polio fatality in the Twin Cities area this year.

She was born Nov. 14, 1945, at Mauston, Wis. The family lived in the Neenah vicinity for eight years and at Rt 2. Neenah for the last four years. She was a fourth grade student at Gillingham School.

Surviving are the parents, a brother, Larry, 7, her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Minnie Seeley, N.D., her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Fike of Neenah, and a great-great grandmother, Mrs. Fike.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist Church by the Rev. Norman Ream. Friends may call at the Kessler Funeral Home from 7 o’clock tonight until Saturday noon.
