John J. Seeley

John J. Seeley, 73, of Countryman Road, RD 1, Mexico, died Friday in the Oswego Hospital after a long illness.

He was an operating engineer for Stone-Webster for several years. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union. He also belonged to Lake City Lodge 127, Free and Accepted Masons, Oswego, Arbeit Lodge 168, I.O.O.F., Mexico.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Crandall Seeley; four daughters, Katherine Reichard of Central Square, Flossie Johnson of Mexico, Jean Shephard of Altmar and Anita Coe of Adams; 25 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Harter-Olmstead Funeral Home, Mexico. Burial will be in South Rich Land Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home, 5305 Washington Ave., Mexico, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mr. Seeley was an operating engineer Stone & Webster.

He was a member of the operating engineers’ union, Lake City Lodge 127, FA&M, and Arbeit Lodge 168, IOOF.

Surviving are his wife, the former Sarah Crandall; four daughters, Katherine Reichard of Central Square, Flossie Johnson of Mexico, Jean Shepard of Altmar and Anita Coe of Adams; 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and several stepchildren.
