Geraldine A. Seeley

Geraldine A. Seeley, 91, died Friday, April 20, 2007 at the Life Care Center of Elyria. Miss Seeley was born January 8, 1916 in Litchfield, OH, the daughter of the late Glenn T. and Leona M. (nee Ensign) Seeley. A lifelong resident of Elyria, Ms. Seeley never married but devoted her working life to helping needy families and children as a social worker with the Lorain County Welfare Agency. After retirement in the 1980’s she continued as a caregiver to her widowed mother, Leona Seeley who died at the age of 104. Ms. Seeley graduated from Elyria High School in 1934 and continued her education in social studies with state sponsored programs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lena Schroeder of Lorain and June Fox of Elyria. She is survived by her brother, Glenn (Kristina) Seeley of Westlake; niece, Barbara Leuszler of Amherst Twp. and a nephew, Gregory D. Seeley of Westlake.

Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second Street, Elyria on Monday, April 23 from 10:30 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Robert N. Schroyer will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst. Memorial Contributions in loving memory of Geraldine may be forwarded to the American Cancer Society, 43099 N. Ridge Rd. Elyria, OH 44035.
