Evelyn Ida Bason Seeley

(1924- 2008)

Evelyn Ida Bason Seeley, 84, of Anamosa, died Sunday, August 3, 2008. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family will visit with friends from noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Evelyn was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Afton, Iowa. She was retired from the United States Post Office. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Her favorite bird was the cardinal and she loved flowers and butterflies. Her family and friends were her pride and joy and she enjoyed playing the piano. Evelyn was a lifelong member of Grace Baptist Church.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Max Seely of Anamosa; children, Sheri (Joe) Godfroy of Redfield, Richard (Karen) Bason of Des Moines, Robert (Linda) Bason of San Antonio, Texas, and Cindy (Mike) Krahl of Phoenix, Ariz.; her stepchildren, David Seeley of Anamosa, Donna Lou (Pete) Clagett of Anamosa, Darrell (Trisha) Seeley of Wales, Wis., Clarke (Donna) Seely of Marion, Gail (Bernie) DeLeseleuc of Shediac, New Brunswick, and Rose Anne (Dave) Steninger of Cedar Rapids; her sisters, Arlene Sherer of West Des Moines, Pauline (Dennis) Sweet of Shannon City, and Marion Hess of Afton; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George (Bill) W. Bason Sr.; her son, George (Bill) W. Bason Jr.; and her daughter, Crystal Ruffcorn.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Baptist Church in Fairview, Iowa. in loving memory of Evelyn.
