Donald Frank Seeley

(1921- 2005)

Donald Frank Seeley 1921 ~ 2005 Father, Patriarch, Donald Frank Seeley returned to the loving arms of his Father in Heaven and was reunited with his sweetheart Fay Dec.21, 2005. Don was born August 15, 1921 to Benjamin Frank Seeley and Minnie Bell Christensen in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Proceeded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, and his loving wife of 65 years. Don is survived by his two sisters, Louise Smith and Catherine (Verno) Guymon, one brother, Burt (Maxine) Seely, three sons, Ronald (Pat) Seeley, Sandy, Brent (Susan) Seeley, West Jordan and Kevin (Vicki) Seeley, Taylorsville; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Dad married Mom November 27, 1940 and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple. Shortly after that he was drafted to serve his country in World War II. He served as a Sgt in the Infantry in the Pacific. Upon his return he continued his service for others and for the Lord. He served in the LDS Church in many different callings, but his favorite was serving as Bishop. He helped any and all in need. In his younger days he drove a coal truck, worked for The Arms Plant in Salt Lake and drove a bus. He pursued a career as a bus driver and drove for Utah Power and Light Transit, Salt Lake City Lines, UTA and Lewis Brother Stages. We all remember our rides on the bus with Grampa. That was always a special day. Grampa was a handyman and could fix anything. He also loved the outdoors. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing and camping in the beautiful Uintah Mountains with his family. He loved to travel and site see and do lapidary work. He taught us all that to find the true beauty of a rock, you had to “spit on it” to make it shine. He made everyone beautiful jewelry. Grampa, thank you for your love, your time and your patience and for touching our lives in more ways than you will ever know. Enjoy your reunion with Grama and tell her we love and miss her. We will love you both forever! The family wishes to thank the medical staff at Alta View Hospital for taking care of Dad in his final days. A viewing will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at the Waterloo Ward House, 1623 South 500 East. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 12:00 noon at the Waterloo Ward House with a viewing from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Dad will be laid to rest next to his sweetheart at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 W. 4100 So.
