Charles E. Seeley

(1924- 1992)

Charles E. Seeley, 68, of Portsmouth, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1992, at home after long illness.

Born Feb. 1, 1924, in Columbus, a son of the late Charles E. Seeley Sr. and Matilda Lawson Seeley Van Alstyne, he was a retired corrections officer of Southern Ohio Correctional Facility of Lucasville, World War II Marine veteran and member of Rosemount Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are his wife, Joy K. Ward Seeley, whom he married Feb. 16, 1946; two daughters, Donna Lovett of Illinois and Laura Seeley of Boston, Mass.; and four grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Scott Seeley.

Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, with the Rev. Jean Ratliff officiating, and interment in Siloam Cemetery at South Shore Route 1.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the services Tuesday.
