Dolores M. Seeley

1920 – 2017

Dolores M. Seeley, 96 of Schofield, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2017 surrounded by loving family members at Hospice House in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Dolores was born into the family of John and Alexia Spatz in 1920. In 1939 she married the love of her life, Raymond Seeley. While Ray served his county in the United States Navy in World War II, Dolores proudly served her family by raising their son Jerry, born in 1940. Dolores and Ray shared 70 years of marriage before he passed away in 2010.

Together they shared a love of the outdoors, from picking wild berries in the woods and planting flowers and vegetables in their garden, to giving away various trees, shrubs, and rose bushes to many friends and family members.

In later years they enjoyed RV traveling with their son’s family to many of the national parks in the Western states, as well as Canada and Alaska.

Dolores enjoyed knitting and baking, her specialties included butterhorn rolls, cookies, and chocolate covered cherries. She enjoyed reading, especially historical novels by James Michener. She was always happy to have family members and friends visit and was thankful for the time spent together.

She is remembered by those who knew and loved her as one to always think of others first, caring and kind, generous in spirit, frugal with a penny (as any good household manager has to be!), and someone all of us wish we could emulate. She will be greatly missed.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her son Jerry, and her siblings Joseph, Robert, John Jr, Evelyn Lawrence, Genevieve Krueger, Sylvester, Mary Nienow, Isabelle Glenetzke, and Arnold.

Survivors include her brother Bernard Spatz, her daughter-in-law, Barbara Seeley and two grandsons, Marc and Kris Seeley, along with many nieces and nephews.

At Dolores’ request there will be no services.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the kind and courteous staff at Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital and Aspirus Hospice House for the outstanding and compassionate care extended to Dolores during her stay with them.
