Elvera M. Seeley

Elvera M. Seeley, 79 years of age, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at her home near Adams Ne. She was born in 1939 in Tecumseh, Nebraska to Carl and Ida (Revis) Mischnick. In 1944, Elvera moved to the farm west of Adams where she lived for most of her life. After graduating from Adams High school, she earned a diploma from the National Business Institute and worked for Nebraska Hardware Mutual Insurance. Elvera was married on Thanksgiving Day, 1958 to Richard Seeley in Adams Ne. Together they raised 2 children. She earned a certificate in Dietary Management from SCC and worked at Lakeview Nursing Home in Firth in foodservice for 17 years. She was a member of the Heartland Community Church in Filley and taught a Good News Club through Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) for 24 years in Adams. She had a lifelong passion for craft work with Barn quilts being her last endeavor. Elvera loved cooking, scrapbooking, genealogy and keeping in touch with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband: Richard, son: David (Jeannie) Seeley of Lincoln; daughter Eileen (Steve) Lundy of Omaha; and 4 grandchildren Anna Seeley, Timothy Lundy, Emily (Drew) Semlak and Matthew Lundy. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with David Burrow officiating. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery, Adams. The body will lie in state Tuesday from 10:00-8:00 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with the family greeting friends from 6:00-7:30, and on Wednesday from 8:30 until the time of the service. A memorial has been established to the Child Evangelism Fellowship with the funeral home in charge.

These services have been entrusted to the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice.
