Alfaretta Neff Seely

BRIGHAM CITY – Funeral services for Mrs. Alfaretta Neff Seely, 70, who died Tuesday in a Brigham City hospital of a heart attack, will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Brigham City Third LDS ward chapel by W.H. Stayner, bishop.

Friends may call at the family home Thursday evening and Friday prior to services. Burial will be in the Brigham City cemetery under direction of the Felt funeral home.

Mrs. Seely was born January 16, 1873, in East Mill Creek, Salt Lake county, a daughter of Franklin and Frances Stillman Neff. She was married to Arta M. Seely on May 3, 1899, in the Salt Lake LDS temple and until 1912 lived in East Mill Creek. She them moved to western Box Elder county. She served as president of the Relief society and the Primary association of the Rosstze LDS ward and also held official positions in the ward Sunday school and MIA organizations.

For the past 15 years, Mrs. Seely resided in Brigham City. She was a member of the Seagull camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Surviving are her husband, three sons, A. Elwyn Seely and F. Leland Seely of Brigham City and Grant M. Seely of Ogden; two daughters, Mrs. Verna M. Carter of Park Valley, and Mrs. Leola S. Anderson of Ogden; two sisters, Mrs. R. P. Fisher of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Frank Sharp of Lyman, Idaho, and 18 grandchildren.
