Arden “Bud” D. Seely

Arden “Bud” D. Seely, 69, 564 Halyday Run Rd., Oil City, died at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 1993, at Northwest Medical Center’s West Unit following an extended illness.

Mr. Seely was born Aug. 12, 1923, in Oil City, a son of the late Willis P. and Ruby R. Stuck Seely. He married Elsie Pringle on Sept. 26, 1953, at the Bradleytown United Methodist Church.

Mr. Seely was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II, entering on Jan. 21, 1943, and leaving the service on April 7, 1946. He retired from the Pennzoil Company. He was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, traveling and three-wheeling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Mrs. Thomas (Kathy) Harmon of Oil City, James Selly (sic) of Wallaceville, Mrs. Mark (Linda) Mitchell of Cooperstown and Jordon Seely at home; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Louis (Mary) Kay of Oil City; and a brother Wayne Seely, of Ann Arbor, Mich.

Friends may call at the Louis H. Oserueder Funeral Home in Oil City this evening from 7 to 9 and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held there on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Scott, pastor of the Oakland United Methodist Church, and Rev. David Bowland officiating. Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery.

The family has said memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association.
