NAUGATUCK — Assunta (Sue) Ciccone Seely, 64, formerly of Ansonia and Naples, Italy, passed away at her home on Monday evening, Sept. 24, 2007, surrounded by her loving family following a long and courageous battle with cancer . She was the wife of Eugene (Skip) Seely.

Mrs. Seely was born in Naples Feb. 4, 1943, the daughter of Margherita Ciccone and the late Giuseppe Ciccone. She was also predeceased by a brother, Eugenio Ciccone, a niece, Sandra Ciccone, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elena and Joseph Seely. Besides her mother and beloved husband of 44 years, she is survived by a daughter, Susan Monsam of Prospect, and sons, Joseph Seely of Naugatuck, Jason Seely of Wolcott; grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew Monsam of Prospect, and Sarah Seely of Naugatuck; siblings, Luisa Esposito Ciccone and Dora Marino, both of Naples, Italy, Mario Ciccone, Anna Iannaccone, Antonio Ciccone, Frank Ciccone, Sylvia Dechane and Vincenzo Ciccone, all of Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.

She was known and loved by many friends over the years through her work at Jerry’s Market in Ansonia, East Side Deli in Naugatuck, and Nonnie’s Deli in Bethany. She also co-owned and managed Eugene Joseph Antiques & Collectibles with her husband in Naugatuck.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent’s Church, New Haven Road, Naugatuck, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
